We cover Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas. We are one of six geographical regions.

NATRC is a national sanctioning body for Competitive Trail Rides in the United States. It is based on the philosophies of stimulating the breeding and use of horses possessed of stamina and hardiness for trail riding and to encourage good horsemanship, training and conditioning of these horses.

Competitive Trail Riding is fun!
It is a great way to build a partnership with your horse through training, conditioning, and education. You and your horse will build trust and confidence in each other and in yourselves, whether you take home ribbons or not! To Finish is To Win!
Competitive trail riding is a great family activity. Children aged 10 or over on the day of the ride can compete. Parents who are competing may ride with their competing children. Family or friends who don't want to compete may volunteer to assist ride management.
If you've never done a CTR before, don't be intimidated? if you just tell ride management it's your first ride, you'll be flabbergasted at how helpful everyone will be! All you need to do is ask and you'll get all the help and guidance you can possibly stand--and then some!

A competitive trail ride is not a race.
It's a timed, judged competition on a natural trail. Your ability to work as a team with your horse and be a safe rider and handler are judged by a horsemanship judge and your horse's condition, soundness and performance are judged by a veterinarian judge.

Competitive Trail Riding encourages a true partnership between horse and rider.
It educates horse and rider to continually advance their skills and promotes horses reaching high lifetime milage goals soundly. It focuses on the health and safety of the horse while helping riders learn to care for the horse without artificial aides. It also fosters camaraderie in which riders consider themselves part of a family dedicated to their horses, trail riding, and spirited competition.
